Copy Editor, U.S. News Ventures

U.S. News Ventures is looking for experienced full-time or part-time Copy Editors for a new, free-access Website covering consumer products. We seek high energy Copy Editors who enjoy a fun, but fast-paced working environment and can start immediately. Candidates must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, self-motivated and able to juggle multiple projects.

The Copy Editor is responsible for day-to-day editing to support the site’s delivery deadlines and operations, including meeting all quality standards. S/he is a hands-on, experienced editorial team member who will:

Edit articles, blog posts, reviews, features and guides
Meet rigid deadlines and maintain high quality standards
Demonstrate the ability to assist in the coordination of workflow and the maintenance of schedules

Job Requirements:

BS/BA degree in English, journalism or a related discipline
5-10 years of copyediting experience, including editing for a Website or daily newspaper
Excellent writing and organizational skills
Exceptional command of English grammar/usage and AP style
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, as well as on a team
Familiarity with content management systems is a plus
Strong sense of responsibility and personal accountability
