Educational Aide/Classroom Facilitator
We’re looking for a part-time educational facilitator for our sweet, loving preschooler with language and motor delays and a gift for making teachers and therapists fall in love with him! This position begins in late August and continues throughout the school year at the National Child Research Center in Cleveland Park. It’s ideal for a parent with a special education or SLP background who wants to keep a hand in this work while your kids are in school. The position's days/hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:45-11:15 a.m. plus some additional time for weekly updates and attending occasional meetings and therapy sessions.
Working as part of a high-caliber teaching team in this model inclusion preschool, the facilitator will assist the child’s social, communication, physical, cognitive and self-help development in the classroom. The facilitator will also collaborate with the child’s individual therapists and NCRC’s resource staff.
Qualifications include a background in early childhood education, experience with children with special needs and a desire to be part of a teaching team. Background in speech-language development or special education a plus.
