P/T Executive Director for School-Force, $50K for 25 hr work week!
Position Announcement
P/T Executive Director for School-Force,
the Foundation for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District
School-Force Background
School-Force was formed five years ago by volunteer parents in reaction to school budget cuts in the Belmont-Redwood Shores Public School District. School-Force raises money each year from parents and the community in order to retain and enhance much-valued school programs. The fundraising effort during the 2005-06 school year is projected to reach a record-breaking $350,000. In total, School-Force has accounted for $1.25 million in funds to the BRSSD, a public school district that includes five elementary schools and one middle school.
Our mission is to maintain and improve quality education, and to act as a catalyst to involve the community in public education.
The BRSSD School Board has designated that the funds for the 2006-07 school-year be used to staff an elementary science specialist, reading specialists, and an instrumental music instructor. In addition, School-Force funds will go towards keeping the libraries open additional hours, and will fund the majority of a new program geared towards developing our students’ writing skills. A significant grant will also be targeted to the Industrial Technology/Space Design elective program taught at Ralston Middle School.
