Description: The Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) has 20 branch libraries located throughout Fairfax County. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad is a non-profit organization providing no-cost, exceptional emergency service to the communities of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and upper Northwest Washington, D.C. The Rescue Squad is one of the nation’s premier volunteer fire/rescue organizations. With the exception of a paid daytime crew, the Rescue Squad is staffed by a corps of professionally trained volunteers who staff ambulances, medic units, and heavy rescue squads outfitted with cutting edge technology. Responding to more than 11,000 incidents a year with over 150 trained first responders, the Rescue Squad is unique on its reliance upon community donations for funding – reflecting a trusted relationship between the community and the Rescue Squad since 1947.
