With 150 professionally trained Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics, and Firefighters–men and women who respond to almost 11,000 emergency calls per year–the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS) has evolved into one of the nation’s most advanced rescue squads, providing no-cost compassionate, lifesaving ambulance and rescue services. The Squad’s accomplishments have garnered national attention and include the first human "save" of a victim in a fire using an innovative thermal imaging system, and the first Paramedic in the state of Maryland.
